MRC Helping Communities Program
Dear Members of the Metropolitan Removal Company Community,
My name is Michael E. Walsh, MRC President. For those who may be hearing about MRC for the first time, we are a
family-operated removal service located in Bellingham, MA. MRC has been in the hauling & interior demolition
business since 1984.
Over the past several weeks, all of our lives have been enormously impacted by the pandemic. Some people have
become sick from the virus itself. Many businesses have had to shut down, resulting in massive layoffs. We have all
had to make sacrifices. Life as we knew it has changed for everyone.
What has been especially devastating about this situation is the speed with which it unfolded. In recent years, my
family and I have personally experienced significant health challenges, so we are very familiar with how life can
become flipped upside down and inside out in a moment’s notice. During these crises, when it was easy to feel
overwhelmed and lose hope, we found that the simple acts of kindness of others kept us going and made a
tremendous difference; whether someone called to check in, offered to run an errand, or delivered a meal, we
knew that we were not alone, that there was strength in community.
For small business owners like myself, life has been flipped upside down again. With so much devastation and loss,
I know how important it is now more than ever to rally as a community to help each other during this global crisis.
None of us are in a position to do a lot to help, but I know we can each do a little. That is how and why I came up
with the idea for MRC’s Helping Communities Program; it is a way to use our limited resources to do our small part
to help the local community.
Here is how our simple program works. We want to read people’s stories on the attached application about how
they have been impacted by the pandemic. After reviewing all the applications, we will select someone who will
receive a 15 or 30-yard dumpster free of charge* for one week. The details of the MRC Helping Communities Program are outlined here. If you know anyone who might benefit from it, please share this link with them. While
I wish we could do more to help more people, this is a small start. We are hoping to be in a position to do more as
we work together to get through these challenging times.
Thank you for being a part of the MRC Community and thank you for helping to spread the word about the MRC Helping Communities Program. We know that by working together we can and will make a difference.
Take care of yourself.
